The universe is structured with regions of groups or clusters of galaxies where there are more galaxies than the average and voids where there are less. This structure makes the cosmic web which is filamentary. We will discuss how to characterize this complex structure and how it arises in a cosmological context. Quantum fluctuations were the seeds to all of this, whose imprints are seen in the cosmic microwave background; but how did they become galaxies? This seminar will describe how to make the connections between various concepts using a simplified fluid description.
